Nee-naw, nee-naw. Map Police alert...

Apparently the 2011 Primary School league tables are out. The Guardian's data blog encourages us to find a school using their map. Well...here you go...try it:
Having trouble? I thought so. They claim the map was mapped using Google Fusion Tables. I beg to differ. It was mapped by someone who, through the evidence on display, appears to know nothing about mapping. Blaming it on Google's Fusion tables seems a little harsh to me. I'm not even going to claim that a bit of cartographic know-how would help here...it's so far removed from a useful cartographic product, it's not even a map. It's a visual data-dump, map-junk...a mashup smashup. My eyes are bleeding.
